Why I joined RocketX: Stella Tigani
May 4, 2022
Our Talent Business Partner Lead tells us everything about her experiences, ambitions, and why she joined RocketX in Athens.
Managing and building a team from the ground up isn’t an easy task. But if you ask Stella Tigani, our Talent Business Partner Lead in Athens, definitely a rewarding task. What attracted Stella to RocketX? And what was her journey in making her way to us?
We sat down with Stella for a chat to learn more...
Back to the Mediterranean Sea
Not to make us city people jealous, but Stella grew up by the sea, on the beautiful island Crete in Greece. During her study in Economics at the university of Crete, she spent a semester in Italy, and it’s safe to say this is where here journey aboard started.
“I kick-started my career in the UK, where I worked for over 5 years in recruitment on a 360 role in the Healthcare industry. But after 6 years in the north, I was charmed by moving back to the Mediterranean Sea, and started working as an Internal Human Resource Recruiter at a group of 5* Hotels in Cyprus.”
After an amazing journey aboard, it was time to move back home to Greece, where she started working for Nestle as a Talent Acquisition Specialist and was responsible for the end-2-end recruitment of all business functions across the Greek market. Quite the resume, right? We were impressed as well.
Standing out against all InMails
Even though Stella wasn’t considering changing jobs, the name RocketX caught her attention. “The name RocketX itself was standing out against all InMails I was receiving, so my curiosity brought me to the final stage of interviews!”
It wasn’t just the name that made Stella fall for RocketX. “The energy, the disruptive mindset and the entrepreneurial spirit of the people I have met throughout the process was clearly a game changer. I could really see myself in the company!”
And the role itself? That’s what really made here ‘tie the knot’. As it combines multiple aspects - not only recruitment itself, but also the partnership alongside the hiring managers when leading a project. And most importantly; “I will also be leading the Athens team - working with people and help them progress is my motivation, gives me a sense of accomplishment. So yes, it was the right offer, at the right moment! I could not say no!”
The right hand in the most challenging recruitment projects
And as if leading the talent team in Athens, while expanding the team to 60 people by the end of 2022 and making sure they all feel happy, understood and empowered to reach their full potential, isn’t enough, Stella has more plans. “I want to reach a stage where I will know my clients "inside-out" and I will also be perceived as their right hand in the most top-notch & challenging recruitment projects!”
After reading this, it’s not a surprise hat Stella describes RocketX as an energetic and disruptive company. A company that truly represents work hard - play hard. “Good work is always rewarded. Look at this amazing Ski Trip in Mont Blanc - what an incentive!”
And if that’s not enough reason to join RocketX, Stella adds; “Here employees have the chance to work in multinational teams and projects, and the opportunities for someone to grow are limitless!”
