NN Ventures was on the hunt for a new CEO to lead their Embedded Insurance venture to the next level. To make their growth journey a success, they were looking for a dynamic leader with a deep understanding of the startup ecosystem and a passion for innovation. With no time to waste, our team got to work! Conducting an extensive search within the fintech landscape, by leveraging our network and expertise in the industry to identify potential candidates and engage with them about the opportunity. As well as through targeted outreach to executives at relevant startups and companies.
The search focused on individuals with an understanding of the startup ecosystem, experience in the fintech or insurtech space, and a track record of success in leadership roles. We reached out to potential candidates through our network, as well as through targeted outreach to executives at relevant startups and companies.
Through this process, we were able to generate a strong pipeline of qualified candidates. We then conducted in-depth screenings and assessments to narrow down the list to a shortlist of six individuals.
We presented these candidates to NN Ventures, providing detailed information and analysis on each individual. The candidates were assessed on their fit with the company culture, their experience, their leadership style, and their vision for the future of NN Ventures.

The results
After careful consideration, Jan Speelman was selected as the ideal candidate for the role. Speelman had extensive experience in the fintech space, having previously held leadership roles at Agicap and Clubcollect. The entire search process, from the initial engagement with RocketX to the hiring of Jan Speelman, took just 12 weeks. This rapid turnaround was made possible by our expertise, experience, and focus on delivering results for their clients. Through a close collaboration with main stakeholder Jeroen Meijers (NN), we were able to make iterations, discuss nuances and create efficiency on a day-to-day basis.
